Our clients in Kenmore wanted to trade a dated, closed-off kitchen for a bright modern farmhouse space built for everyday family life. They came to Riff Co. Renovations for a layout that opened the room up, hard-wearing surfaces, and a place to gather that didn't eat into the footprint. We reworked the layout to make room for a large center island and a full run of custom cabinetry. Soft sage-green shaker cabinets set the tone, topped with poured concrete countertops that give the kitchen its modern edge and stand up to daily wear. A handmade marble lantern-tile backsplash runs wall to wall behind the range and sink, and a matte-black farmhouse apron sink anchors the main workspace. For the gathering spot they asked for, we built a custom storage bench into the corner, a banquette with drawers below that adds seating without crowding the room. Stainless appliances, a custom range hood surround, recessed lighting, and wide-plank flooring finish the space.
